MF Athletes:
The trained athlete has prepared his/her body by achieving the proper balance between, strength, power, flexibility and endurance. Their muscle fibers will likely exhibit hypertrophy due to the increased cross section and density of the muscle fibers. A reduction in adipose tissue (fat) and greater development of connective tissue within the muscle bundles allows their bodies to withstand more strain and stress that would most likely cause injury to a lesser trained individual. Not to mention faster recruitment of muscle fibers from proper speed and power training will provide our athlete with greater acceleration and force production.
Often overlooked, flexibility should always be incorporated with any athlete to further decrease the chance of injury. This allows for proper mechanics and range of motion to also generate more power.
Reduction in all three of these categories: strength, power, and flexibility will all take hold of the athlete once their body can no longer clear the waste in their muscles faster then it is being produced. This is due to fatigue which can be greatly delayed in the trained athlete with the proper endurance training. This can become tricky for many athletes as strength and power can be reduced with improper timing or type of endurance training during their workouts.
This is why we train outside of our sport, to ensure our bodies can withstand the demand that is going to be called upon it at any given time during competition. With the correct training adaptations and simulations we can allow our bodies to peak at the right moment and overcome the lesser trained that stand in the way of victory.
Come see what your body is made out of

Strength: the body’s ability to exert force on a given object
Ex: A max bench press
Power: the speed at which the body can generate force
Ex: The 40 yard dash
Flexibility: The range of motion of a joint
Ex: A martial artist performing a high round house kick requires flexibility in the hip joint and those muscles connected
Endurance: the ability to undergo aerobic exercise for a duration of time
Ex: A 90 minute soccer match
